Week 19- Mango

The long awaited belly pic. In this pic I am wearing my tightest maternity shirt...so you could imagine that when I am wearing loose fitting clothes it is still hard to see that I am pregnant. I am defn not complaining...more time in regular shirts. Though the waist is getting a little thick to button my non maternity pants.

FarmAid

I went with my boss to this concert in Massachuttes last weekend. We had a great time and I was able to see Dave Matthews play with Tim Reynolds. Great sound. In addition Kenney Chesney, Willie Nelson and Neil Young played. It was a great time...although I needed to leave by 10 because I was exhausted. Hey growing a person is alot of work

Maya has her father wrapped around her little paw. Can you tell?

Inside My Uterus

Last Thursday we had our second Ultrasound. I of course made the mistake of scheduling it for 8 AM...forgetting that would mean I had to wake up at 6AM to start drinking water. Thus far my pregnant bladder has held up well but the 32 oz. I had to drink tested my strength for sure.
The ultrasound was amazing...I completely forgot my discomfort once they started. We were able to see the brain, heart, legs, arms perfectely. The baby kept scratching its face. We would be looking at the mouth and suddenly see bony hands. Also we had to keep waiting because the baby was assuming the "leap frog" pose...pulling its knees up to its chest.
Here are a few pics:

In this pic you can see the babies brain with the ventricles already formed, its face and two little sets of fingers and a knee.

Andy calls this our pirate picture. I think it looks more like a Halloween skeleton...appropriate timing right? The baby is facing us with its mouth open. You can see both hands and the two bones in the right forearm. The babies knees are bent and legs are crossed at the ankle. The wiggly thing in the middle is the umbilical cord.
So that is it. We may have another ultrasound later in the pregnancy but probablly not...with the baby looking so healthy and growing so well they dont usually do them. Oh and lastly the stats...heart rate 150, weight 8 oz. length 8 inches.
And for those of you who are wondering about the sex.......sorry :)

Threats

Ever since we announced our due date as February 19th everyone has commented on how great it would be if the baby is born on Valentines Day. I am not opposed to this idea since by then I am sure I will be more than ready for the baby to come. Recently however my dear sweet husband had a revelation. The SUPERBOWL this year is in February. His feeling is that he should not be required to attend a labor during super bowl...especially because labors last so long that it will probablly just be beginning stage. I had to remind him our labor and delivery rooms had flat screens in them...good thing or one of us would be unhappy.
So this week is a sweet potato. Everything is going great right now. I am still able to run about 12 miles a week though my miles are getting slower. My energy level is good. Havent felt the baby kick but that is not surprising since I really dont look pregnant...still havent "popped". I am sure it will come soon.

Energy

So now that I am in my second trimester energy burst it is hard for me to sit down and blog. Before just posting a blog made me feel accomplished now I am buzzing around doing things and dont have "time" to post. From my female friends I hear this energy will be gone soon so I am enjoying it while I can.

Not much to report in the world of McDonalds. Andy started back at school. He is also working for Rachel's Challenge for the month of September so he will be doing alot of traveling around New England. He is also spending next week in Tyler, Texas.

I am doing a little of fill in work for the hospital. We have recently switched to a hospitalist system and I am filling in some scheduling gaps. It is nice for me to stretch my comfort level a bit...plus the extra cash can only help for the little one.

Andy and I are looking forward to the next month. Our "big" ultrasound is scheduled for the 18th. We cant wait to see the little one. We heard the heartbeat again today 146 bpm. Old wives tales would have us think it is a girl because of that...who knows?

Lastly we are entering my FAVORITE time of the year in New England. There is nothing more beautiful than fall leaves on the mountains and lakes. Plus we enter the season of small town festivals, apple donuts, pumpkin bread and crisp fall nights. Here is a little picture I did NOT take but I will be sure to get some up of our home once the time is here. Enjoy!
