Easter decorations

For my mother and grandmother some pictures of my Easter decorating abilities. Please excuse the fact that our easter "baskets" are indeed pots. I actually dont have any large baskets that would have sufficed. On an additional note I did recieve a beautiful garden pot to adorn my soon to be uncovered blue stone patio in the back yard.

In my humble opinion, there are two things that the christian religion has absolutely perfected: Christmas Eve candelight service and Easter Sunrise service. When most people think of Easter, they picture little girls in bonnets and big church services. I happen to have a different view of Easter. My entire childhood easter memories revolve around sunrise service in a little log cabin in Birchwood Alaska, which our church owned. Easter egg hunts were done in the snow and I never remember wearing a dress.

This year, I set out to find a sunrise service for us to attend. Given that we live in a small community there were actually few to be found. However after searching I found one that would be unique and suit our needs. The service was indeed a sunrise service and it was held at the top of Loon Mountain a ski resort in New Hampshire. We arrived at 5:30 AM to ride the gondola to the top.

Once we arrived it quickly became apparent that the other members of the "congregation" were not riding the gondola down like us. They were skiing down. The service was beautiful we all enjoyed it immensely despite the early time

House Guests

Starting in March, Breanna has being living with us. She finished her doctorate of physical therapy as of February. The first doctor in the family we are so proud. She is starting her new job in Colorado Springs in April and is studying for boards at our house in the mean time.

The puppies love having Brea she spends the day with them.

Since her arrival we have been lucky enough to have two guests. Last weekend her boyfriend Tony was in town. He had originally wanted to do some skiing however due to the recent rain we have been recieving he skipped it.

This weekend Mark was in town and we did some very light "hiking". Even though Mark lives in Philadelphia he was ill prepared for the burden of the cold. I believe I heard "my people are a tropical people" at least 4 times. His hiking apparel left something to be desired including a leather coat, jeans and no hat. I thought everyone would enjoy some pictures.

Beginnings

In Italy Last May

Welcome to our blog. After being influenced by my cousins and friends I have decided to join the crowd and start a blog. Andy and I both have myspace and facebook pages. However not everyone has access to them (read my mother). I really enjoy looking at other peoples blogs so I figured why not start my own. Andy has (hesitantly) agreed to join me. We live so far away from the ones we love and want to be able to share our everyday lives with you all. So here goes nothing.

Since I have been promising my mother for a long period of time pictures of everything alot of the beginning of this blog will be pictures of our house and stuff like that. Since not everyone has visited us here in beautiful New Hampshire let be introduce you to the family:

First is me, Britt. I work as a physician assistant. I do both inpatient and outpatient internal medicine (read lots of call) and love my job. I couldnt imagine doing anything else. I am one of the few people who are blessed to have found their dream job at such a young age. I go through obsessive phases of things...my current phase is triatholon training. I am very excited to be competing in an olympic length triatholon (1 mile swim, 27 mile bike, 6 mile run) in June of this year. I also try to be a amateur Martha Stewart so occasionally you will see pics of cakes and painted walls. This is the picture of us at my graduation from PA school with my masters degree.

There is my wonderful husband Andy (who is looking over my shoulder making sure I mention him before the puppies). He currently works in Special Education at our local elementary school. He also is training to work for a company called Rachel's Challenge, a school violence assembly program. Check out their website at rachelschallenge.com

Next is Maya our two year old springer girl. She is a peanut who never grew in her real dog hair. She has an affinity for all things stick related and loves peanut butter.

Last is Champion. Named after the Denver Broncos defensive back, Champ Bailey. He is my running partner and trouble maker. He goes to bed early, growls if he is disturbed and wakes me up at the crack of dawn. He usually doesnt wear clothes but in this picture he had just been groomed by his evil mother and he was cold.

So that is it. Hope you enjoy.
